Michael Sam and the NFL

I'm not sure if anyone still reads this...but as many of you know, college football star Michael Sam recently came out prior to the NFL draft. He is the first openly gay football player, and some NFL sources say that this will hurt his status in the draft. Here's a great clip that a friend posted on Facebook.

Some interesting points are that Hansen acknowledges his own discomfort and inability to relate to gay men, and he also quotes Audre Lorde!

Hope you're all doing well.

Enjoy.

Sochi Olympics

When Professor Bilger came to speak to us, we spoke briefly about how sports can fit into the conversation of LGBT rights. I found this interesting article about a prominent former Olympians view of Russia's anti-gay laws, and what olympians should do about it.
